Abstract
The Cartwright Community Ckub was started by Amy Bird and Mrs. Harvey Bird in the late 1940's. The original book sold for $2.50, the money raised was for the Church Organ, which cost $800.00. The meetings usually were spent mending clothes and doing things for the dormitory, and raising the rest of the money needed to purchase the Organ. Mrs.Dorthy Fequet, as secretary rowed across the harbor to Mrs.Birds; to collect the money, for the money order.
